This is one of the best covers I have seen of “For the Love of God” by Steve Vai. Gustavo Guerra is the player… and he totally nails it. One thing that sets apart the amateurs from the professionals on this song is the proper sliding to the notes. Gustavo has everything down perfect.

If I had to pick out anything bad on this video, when the track hits 3:17, is the only part that needs just a tad of improvement. Make sure you watch till the video hit 3:53 and you’ll see the close up fretcam shots. I bet that Ibanez Jem plays just sweet.

For the Love of God is from the second solo album from Steve Vai, Passion and Warfare. Released in 1990 by the Sony Label. This is by far my favorite Vai album.
