Sleepwalker - New Megadeth Cover with Solos

June 1st, 2007

Here is a cover of Sleepwalker, the first track from Megadeth’s new CD United Abominations. I can’t get enough of this CD. It has the classic heavy Megadeth sound. It’s the same sound they had in the eighties with fast and complex guitar riffs.

The guitarist playing the cover of Sleepwalker is Francisco Meza from Toronto Canada. The distortion sound is too fuzzy for me… but I think that’s a standard sound from the Line 6 guitar port that he is using. Great playing and the solos are spot on. The song begins with a clean intro riff, and then it moves to an overdriven guitar lick that is used throughout the song.

In the United States, the album debuted at number eight, and sold 54,000 copies in its first week. Dave Mustaine delayed the release of United Abominations to put on some finishing touches and make sure everything was perfect.

The album is the first studio release for Megadeth on Roadrunner Records, their current record label. It is also the Megadeth’s first album with the current lineup featuring Dave Mustaine doing vocals and guitar, Glen Drover on guitar, Shawn Drover on drums, and James Lomenzo playing bass.
