Vito Bratta Solo - Wait by White Lion
March 24th, 2007Here is a Vito Bratta riff to finish off this week’s post of 80s guitar videos. This short solo is played by Claudio Cabrera from Peru.
I consider Vito Bratta to be one of the best of the Eddie Van Halen wannabes. He totally ripped off many of VanHalen’s signature licks. Some guitarists took a few riffs here and there from Eddie and built on them. Vitto took it a step further and copied his entire style and sound.
White Lion was signed to Atlantic Records in early 1987. In June of that year, they released their breakthrough album Pride. The first single was “Wait” and it reached #8 on the singles chart. The album Pride peaked at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 and it remained on the chart for a full year.
After the breakup of White Lion, Vito Bratta stayed with Atlantic Records for a short time to help produce an album for CPR. Vito has not been involved in the music industry since 1994.
At the present time, he is said to be living in his childhood home in New York with his parents. Guitar World magazine mentioned that Vito Bratta is “Out of the music business and working with computers”.
